Placing your child

We understand that children come to us from a range of countries, and that changing school systems can be a confusing process. The chart below explains how grade placement decisions are made at KLIS, and our Admissions team is available to answer any questions you may have.

Please note:

  • Students seeking enrollment at KLIS are placed per their age on or before October 31st with the terms below taken into priority consideration.
  • Students transferring from a country with a school year that follows a different calendar than KLIS will be required to continue in the same grade level they have just completed. For example, a student who completed Grade 8 in Korea in February would be placed in Year 9 for the remainder of the academic year at KLIS.
  • Students successfully transferring into KLIS during the school year will be required to continue their academic program in the same grade level for the remainder of the KLIS academic year.
